Ranthambhore National Park spans 392 square kilometers in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957, and in 1974 it came under the protection of Govt. of India’s Project Tiger Conservation Program. The Park is home to “ Ranthambhore Fort ” which dates back 1000 years. The Fort is a UNESCO world Heritage site and situated amidst Aravalli and Vindhya ranges surrounded by vast tracts of desert ecology of Rajasthan.
Although the park has Diverse rangeof wildlife but “ TIGER ” is the biggest attraction of the park. Ranthambhore is considered one of the best Places to see and observe Tigers in their true colour in the wild. The population of the Royal Bengal Tigers here is currently estimated to be around Eightyand number of sightings have increased tremendously in the last few years.

Ranthambhore National Park has a total of 10 safari zones. Zones 1 to 5 remain open from 01st of Oct to 30th June. Zones 6 to 10 – remain open through the year.

Best time to visit is October to April.
Best time to spot and photograph tigers is December to June.

Ranthambhore Fort

Offering perfect backdrop for Wildlife photography enthusiasts, the fort tells enchanting tales of the Maharaja’s of Jaipur who hunted for fun in the surrounding forest. Scattered ruins add a mystical touch to this erstwhile royal abode. Arriving to the fortresses foothills, you will see a seemingly endless set of stone steps welcoming you. The langur monkeys join you in your quest to discover Fort’s Beauty and traditions. At 700 feet above the surrounding meadows, lies a spectacularly mesmerizing views of the expansive tiger reserve. There are as many as eleven fabulous Hindu and Jain temples that are revered by devotees from across the country. The main tourist attraction is the Ganesha temple, which attracts thousands of pilgrims year after year. Tourists are welcomed to go inside and pray and give some offerings to Lord “ Ganesha “.

Gharial Sanctuary

Mansarovar Dam/ Lake

Mansarovar Dam is a birdwatcher’s delight. Approximately 20 kms from the main city, It is Situated in the south western fringes of the Ranthambhore National Park. Home to the Indian skimmer, quail, lark and painted spur fowlthe formidable structure of Mansarovar Dam creates a walled boundary for the national reserve. A perennial water source attracts birds, both native and migratory to quench their thirst at the clear waters and breed at its banks.

Natural History Museum

Situated near Ranthambhore National Park, the Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum of Natural history is one of fourth such Museum in the country after Mysore, Bhopal and Bhuvneshwar. It is Spread over an area of 7.2 Acres and is a must visit.

Kshetrapal Baoli, Sukhvas, Sawai Madhopur

The popular sentiment says that Kshetrapal Step Well of Sukhvas village was constructed by rulers in between 1451-1526, A.D. periods. The Baoli is square shape in plan of about 15m x 15m in size and symmetrical pattern in all four sides. It usually consists of two parts; a central vertical shaft from which water is drawn and the surrounding steps which provide access to the well. Large blocks of sand stone are used in wall and steps construction as horizontal courses. In all four corners built a squre Chhatri with four columns.
